Paris Je T'Aime

Last night I was Abe's date to the screening of Woody Allen's new movie, Midnight in Paris.  He gets invited to lots of assorted fabulosities and every now and then I'm lucky enough to tag along.  But to let you in on a little secret -- I was hesitant as I'm not the biggest Woody Allen fan.  I know...I know.  But I have got to tell you, I'm annoyed at my hesitation.  Midnight in Paris was such a lovely, fantastic, whimsical movie that I've been thinking about it all morning.  Last night I fell in love with Paris all over again and with Woody Allen for the very first time.

I can't even go into plot details with you because it's such a completely original idea that you need to experience it and dive into it on your own.  That being said, I left the theater on a rose-colored, Parisian cloud and the second I got in a taxi I called J.P. in an attempt to scrap plans for our LA move and re-route them to Paris.  That idea didn't go over so well.  So onto Plan B.

I've decided to make a concentrated effort to cultivate my inner French girl.  Audrey Tatou, Marion Cotillard, Carla Bruni....these girls know exactly what they're doing and I need to get on the same page.  They are a huge departure from the pageant-ready-Real-Housewife-of-Orange-County-look that so many Americans seem to go after.  Less crap.  More quality.  Incorporate style into every possible situation.  Ballet flats instead of flip flops. Silky camisoles to sleep in as opposed to the GAP Body tanks that I'm obsessed with.  Scarves, scarves, scarves.  Obviously it's impossible to typify an entire city of women and the way they dress, but there is an allegiance to classic beauty and a sort of effortlessness that I can't ignore.

Here are some pieces on my new Parisian wishlist:

Although this poor girl's ability to model leaves much to be desired, this Agent Provocateur Luna camisole is gorgeous for bed and would also be a cute layer under a blazer - $190

Asos Coral Tailored Full Skirt Dress - $93

Chloe Black Square Toe Ballet Flats - $425

And just in case someone (ahem, you know who are) changes his mind about a little Parisian relocation - the apartment below is for rent on the Rue St. Antoine for 3000 euros a month....

Gorgeous apartment right?  Have a great weekend loves...
