I love funky, unexpected home pieces. Love. If you have been to any of my apartments, you know that I am the opposite of a minimalist and could never live in one of those modern, stark spaces. I need books, fresh flowers, framed photos, art on the walls and doo-dads on the shelves. It makes your surroundings feel cozy and lived in - it makes me feel like I'm at home.
My favorite funky trinkets come from Jonathan Adler. I am obsessed with all of his home goods, but I really, really have a thing for his pottery. Aside from a lot of it being a little tongue in cheek (couldn't you just die over the Vices jars meant for your quaaludes, carbs, peyote, glitter, etc?) it's all created by Jonathan and his team in Soho and then produced by artisans at their main workshop in Peru. The Peruvian workshop was found through Aid to Artisans, a really cool non-profit organization that connects designers in the U.S. with artisans in developing countries to promote fair trade. Awesome right?
So...if any of you lovelies are looking around for birthday gifts for me, look no further. Anything below will do just fine!
Quaaludes Jar - $138
Glitter Jar - $138
Dachsund Bookends - $150
Darjeeling Tea Pot - $118
