I love the MET Ball. It is the fashioniest of all of the fashion events and it is on my Manhattan bucket list to finally go one of these years - and no, not in a work capacity. Naturally, attending as the guest of a designer is the ideal, but to be honest, it's going to come down to coughing up $25K for a ticket...which isn't happening any time soon.
This year's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala celebrated the new exhibition "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" and was hosted by Anna Wintour and Miuccia Prada. As expected, some of the dresses were phenomenal and sadly, some were just tragic...
Katherine McPhee in Escada.
I love her, I love her in Smash and I love her body in this dress. She looks amazing.
Jessica Alba in Michael Kors.
She is just so pretty. There are no other words. This dress could have easily looked really cheesy, but she makes it look very 70's glam.
Solange Knowles in Rachel Roy.
This may sound like a biased opinion, but she looks so lovely. Sometimes Solange goes a little too avant garde, but this is so elegant with the peplum, sleek lines and this perfect shade of yellow.
Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren Collection.
Not sure how she's still getting invited to events (sorry) or why she chose that brown lipstick (she should be sorry), but Camilla looks stunning. Flawless.
Rooney Mara in Givenchy.
Rooney looks so pretty but I wish she'd stop Lisbeth Salander-ing herself. WEAR SOME COLOR. SMILE.
Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney.
She looks 100% glamourous and I love the long sleeves on this dress. Quick question though: is that a Something About Mary-esque hair-do that I'm looking at?
Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada.
By now we all know about GOOP's macrobiotic diet, her arduous workouts with Tracy Anderson and honestly, she has never looked better. I like her hair, I like the sideboob, but that dress is just so...Fembot.
Mary Kate Olsen in vintage.
Ever the fan of the depressing, little old lady look is our girl MK who, once again, failed to impress in this dark dud, dirty hair and a scowl.
Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga.
Ew. All of it. Ew.
