Even though it's hard to believe with all of this rain, it's almost summertime. I'm not sure if this is accurate logic, but I am of the belief that once the Kentucky Derby has run, it is officially hat season. With less than three weeks to go until the Belmont Stakes, you ladies don't have that much time to snag the perfect hat - luckily for all of us, I picked some of my favorites below.
I don't know about you, but if I'm going to a horse race, I pick my hat first and the rest of the look seems to fall into place. The past couple of years that I've gone, I've worn a basic, oversized, straw hat but after a little hat search online, I found a lot of really fun options available at a range of colors and prices.
I like rocking a trilby because they kind of look like funky top hats. They make you feel a little bit like Mick Jagger and a little bit like those old British codgers at formal weddings. Just to clarify, everything about that is awesome.
This is just so cute and girly. How could you not love it?
While this hat is very cute, it's a little too masculine. Men wear fedoras (maybe not with that pink band, but they do). I think this more of a running-errands-on-Saturday hat that something that will make a big splash.
This is it. This is my hat. I definitely want it in black but, c'mon, how Southern Belle sounding is it to be wearing a "church hat" to a horse race? I'm obsessed.
This hat is really cute, really versatile and you'll definitely wear it again.
This hat is soo fun. It's my other favorite and might knock that pretty little church hat out of the running to be my Belmont look.
