Have you heard the news? If you read fashion blogs with any regularity, you have heard the news. I have a new co-worker...and it's Carine Roitfeld. Well, ok. That's not entirely true. The real news is that on Thursday, Carine was named the Global Fashion Director for Harper's BAZAAR. It's a pretty huge move as the announcement comes a month after she launched CR Fashion Book (which she will keep doing bi-annually) and just adds to fuel to the rumors of her Conde Nast rivalry as she will now be setting the tone at one of Hearst's most well-known fashion mags. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Anna heard the news.
Roitfeld will collaborate on articles with BAZAAR Creative Director, Steven Gan, and they will begin working with the March 2013 issues, possibly including covers. The exciting thing is that this collaboration marks the first time that anything like this has been done and it's going to be very interesting to see what she brings to the 26 International BAZAAR editions around the world.
